Role description
Hospital Health Data Governance Lead (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your expertise in healthcare data governance could directly shape how AI understands and works with hospital data — influencing systems that will support patient care for millions of people?
We're partnering with leading AI research teams to build and train cutting-edge AI models that work with real-world health data. We're looking for experienced health data governance professionals to help ensure that hospital data used in these systems is accurate, trusted, compliant, and clinically meaningful.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. If you've spent your career making sure healthcare data is reliable, secure, and fit for purpose — this is your opportunity to bring that expertise to the frontier of AI.
• Organization: Alignerr
• Type: Hourly Contract
• Location: Remote
• Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
• Evaluate and define governance standards for hospital health records — assessing accuracy, consistency, completeness, and security
• Review and assess AI-generated outputs related to clinical data workflows, governance frameworks, and compliance policies
• Identify gaps, risks, and inconsistencies in how health data is structured, classified, and managed within AI training scenarios
• Apply your knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks — including HIPAA and other compliance standards — to evaluate data handling practices
• Work cross-functionally to align data policies across clinical, IT, and administrative contexts within project scope
• Provide structured, detailed expert feedback using evaluation tools and frameworks provided
• Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule
Who You Are
• Experienced in healthcare data governance, clinical data management, or health information operations
• Strong working knowledge of healthcare privacy laws and regulatory frameworks, including HIPAA
• Comfortable navigating the intersection of clinical, technical, and compliance domains
• Methodical and detail-oriented — you hold data to a high standard and know when something falls short
• Clear and concise written communicator who can articulate complex governance issues in structured formats
• Self-motivated and reliable when working independently without supervision
Nice to Have
• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
• Background in EHR systems, health informatics, or clinical decision support
• Experience in hospital operations, health IT, or clinical compliance roles
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK or equivalent
Why Join Us
• Work at the intersection of healthcare expertise and cutting-edge AI development
• Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
• Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
• Apply deep domain knowledge to problems that matter — improving how AI understands health data at scale
• Exposure to large-scale health data systems and frontier model training projects
• Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
