Role description
Hospital Health Data Governance Lead (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your expertise in healthcare data governance could directly shape how AI understands, evaluates, and reasons about one of the most complex and high-stakes domains in the world — hospital health data?
We're looking for experienced health data governance professionals to help us build and validate AI systems that must understand the real-world standards, frameworks, and challenges of managing clinical and operational data in hospital environments. Your deep knowledge of how data governance actually works — from policy design to cross-functional alignment — will directly influence how AI models reason about healthcare data quality, compliance, and integrity.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No AI background needed — just strong, hands-on expertise in hospital or healthcare data governance and a sharp eye for what good looks like.
• Organization: Alignerr
• Type: Hourly Contract
• Location: Remote
• Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
• Evaluate AI-generated content, frameworks, and outputs related to hospital data governance for accuracy, completeness, and real-world applicability
• Identify gaps, errors, and oversimplifications in how AI represents clinical data management, compliance requirements, and governance workflows
• Apply your knowledge of healthcare regulatory frameworks — including HIPAA and related standards — to assess whether AI outputs meet professional expectations
• Provide structured, expert feedback that helps AI systems better understand the nuances of cross-functional data governance in hospital settings
• Review scenarios involving clinical data integrity, data lifecycle management, and interoperability across care settings
• Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
• Experienced in healthcare data governance, clinical data management, or health information operations within a hospital or health system
• Strong command of healthcare privacy and compliance frameworks, particularly HIPAA
• Familiar with the realities of aligning data policies across clinical, IT, compliance, and administrative teams
• Naturally detail-oriented — you notice when something doesn't reflect how governance actually works in practice
• Clear and structured written communicator who can articulate expert feedback effectively
• No prior AI or tech industry experience required
Nice to Have
• Experience with data quality programs, data annotation, or clinical data evaluation
• Background in health informatics, clinical operations, or regulatory affairs
• Familiarity with EHR systems, data warehousing, or interoperability standards such as HL7 or FHIR
• Experience working across large, complex healthcare organizations with multiple stakeholder groups
Why Join Us
• Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
• Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
• Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
• Put your specialized expertise to work on problems that matter — at the intersection of healthcare and advanced AI
• Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
