Role description
Hospital Health Data Governance Lead (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your expertise in hospital data governance could directly shape how AI understands, navigates, and applies healthcare information at scale? We're looking for experienced health data governance leaders to help ensure that the healthcare data used to train cutting-edge AI models is accurate, trusted, compliant, and clinically meaningful.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for seasoned professionals who understand the complexity of hospital data environments — from EHR systems and clinical workflows to HIPAA compliance and cross-functional data policies.
• Organization: Alignerr
• Type: Hourly Contract
• Location: Remote
• Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
• Evaluate and establish governance standards that ensure hospital health records are accurate, consistent, and secure
• Review and assess data policies, workflows, and compliance controls across clinical, IT, and administrative domains
• Identify gaps in data quality, integrity, or regulatory adherence and provide structured, expert recommendations
• Apply your knowledge of healthcare privacy frameworks — including HIPAA — to real-world data governance scenarios
• Support the development of AI models by contributing domain expertise to healthcare data annotation, quality evaluation, and operational review tasks
• Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments at your own pace
Who You Are
• Experienced in healthcare data governance, clinical data management, or health information operations
• Strong working knowledge of healthcare privacy, compliance, and regulatory frameworks — especially HIPAA
• Skilled at evaluating data quality and identifying policy, process, or structural weaknesses in health data systems
• Able to think across clinical, technical, and administrative domains with clarity and precision
• Detail-oriented and systematic — you hold data to a high standard because you know what's at stake
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, flexible environment
Nice to Have
• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
• Familiarity with EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or similar systems
• Background in clinical informatics, health information management, or healthcare compliance
• Experience working with CDOs, CIOs, compliance officers, or cross-functional hospital leadership
Why Join Us
• Work at the intersection of healthcare expertise and cutting-edge AI development
• Contribute to large-scale AI projects alongside world-leading research labs
• Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
• Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, high-impact work
• Apply deep domain knowledge to problems that matter — improving how AI understands healthcare
• Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
