HP NonStop Engineer

About the job: Akkodis is seeking an HP NonStop (Tandem) Engineer Onsite in Tampa, FL for a 6-month contract (possible extension) supporting mission-critical production systems in a high-availability environment, primarily within banking and payment processing platforms. This role will focus on system administration, production support, scripting, and troubleshooting of distributed applications running on NonStop systems. To be considered, candidates should have strong experience working with HP NonStop / Tandem systems, including TACL scripting, NonStop SQL, and system utilities such as Pathway and FUP. Experience supporting high-availability systems and production environments is highly preferred. Pay Range: $51/hr. – $56/hr. on W2 (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.) HP NonStop (Tandem) Engineer responsibilities include: • Administer and support HP NonStop (Tandem) systems in a production environment • Perform system installation, configuration, and maintenance activities • Monitor system performance and carry out performance tuning and optimization • Ensure high availability (HA) and reliability of mission-critical systems • Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues, including root cause analysis • Develop and maintain TACL, Shell, or Perl scripts for automation and support tasks • Work with NonStop SQL and Enscribe file systems for data management • Utilize system tools such as Pathway, FUP, and other NonStop utilities • Support and debug distributed applications running in fault-tolerant environments • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve system stability Required Skills & Experience: • 8–10 years of experience working with HP NonStop / Tandem systems • Strong hands-on expertise in TACL scripting • Experience with NonStop SQL and Enscribe database/file systems • Experience in production support, incident management, and troubleshooting • Knowledge of high availability and fault-tolerant systems • Experience with Unix / Linux shell scripting • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in banking or payment processing environments • Knowledge of ISO 8583 messaging systems • Experience with C/C++ in NonStop environments • Exposure to 24x7 production support environments If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
