Role description
Our client is seeking a Data Analyst to join the People Insights & Analytics team. This role will provide hands-on support with recurring reporting, workforce data requests, data preparation, and foundational dashboard development. The ideal candidate is early in their analytics career but comfortable working independently with data. This person should be able to extract information from multiple systems, clean and reconcile datasets, identify data quality issues, and translate business requests into clear reports or simple Power BI dashboards. This is an execution-focused role for someone who is organized, analytical, and interested in developing experience in People Analytics, data governance, and enterprise reporting. • Pay Rate Range - $25-$30/HR Responsibilities: • Pull recurring and ad hoc reports from HR and business systems to support People Analytics, HR, and business leaders. • Combine, clean, standardize, and validate data from multiple sources using Excel, SQL, Python, or similar tools. • Investigate discrepancies, missing values, duplicates, inconsistent definitions, and other data quality issues. • Reconcile report results against source systems and established workforce metrics before information is distributed. • Build and maintain straightforward Power BI reports and dashboards using defined business requirements. • Refresh existing reports, troubleshoot basic reporting issues, and document report logic and data sources. • Support workforce reporting related to headcount, turnover, hiring, learning, talent, organizational structure, and other HR metrics. • Assist with data mapping, data dictionaries, metric definitions, and documentation of business rules. • Support data governance activities by helping track data issues, owners, definitions, remediation actions, and validation results. • Prepare data files and analyses for HR initiatives, acquisitions, system implementations, and consultant-supported projects. • Respond to routine analytics requests while escalating unclear requirements or material data quality concerns. • Partner with members of People Insights & Analytics, HRIS, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Compensation, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders. • Handle employee and workforce data in accordance with confidentiality, access, and data privacy requirements. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Human Resources, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field. • Approximately 2-4 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, or a related area. Relevant internship or project experience may also be considered. • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data validation, and working with large datasets. • Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to write or modify basic queries. • Experience with Power BI or a similar business intelligence platform. • Ability to clean, organize, reconcile, and validate data from multiple sources. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify results that appear incomplete, inconsistent, or unreasonable. • Ability to manage multiple requests, document work clearly, and meet deadlines. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience using Python for data preparation, automation, or analysis. • Experience working with HR, workforce, payroll, recruiting, learning, or organizational data. • Familiarity with HR systems such as Oracle HCM, UKG, Workday, iCIMS, Cornerstone, or similar platforms. • Exposure to data governance, data dictionaries, metric definitions, data mapping, or data quality processes. • Experience supporting Power BI dashboard development, including data modeling, basic DAX, filters, and visualizations. • Interest in People Analytics, HR technology, enterprise data, or workforce reporting.
