Role description
Position Type: Long-term Contract
Target Industry: Healthcare & Enterprise Hospital Systems
Position Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber HR Technology & Payroll Delivery Manager to act as a senior consultant for a major Healthcare and Hospital Systems client.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex IT environments and enterprise HR operations. You will lead a dedicated delivery team responsible for the end-to-end stability, optimization, and platform governance of UKG HCM and Payroll capabilities. This is a functionally technical leadership position requiring a deep understanding of payroll execution, data privacy (PII/PHI) within healthcare environments, and system-to-system data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Application & Service Delivery Leadership
• End-to-End Governance: Direct the day-to-day managed services delivery for the client’s UKG/Kronos ecosystem, spanning Core HR, Benefits, Compensation, and Workforce Management.
• Payroll Safeguarding: Provide senior oversight for payroll cycle execution—ensuring controls, validations, reconciliations, and off-cycle processes run flawlessly to meet tight hospital compliance deadlines.
• Platform Configuration & Change Control: Oversee system backend modifications, including workflow design, earnings/deduction adjustments, security profiling, and rigorous release testing.
Integrations & Advanced Problem Solving
• Data Flow Architecture: Act as the primary escalation point for cross-platform data integration challenges, specifically tracking and resolving data flows between UKG and Core Enterprise ERPs (e.g., Infor CSF).
• L3 Escalation & Root Cause Analysis: Dig into complex system defects, interface failures, and downstream General Ledger (GL) posting errors to engineer permanent preventative solutions.
SLA Operations & Stakeholder Management
• Performance Accountability: Define, track, and report on strict operational metrics (such as SLA adherence, cycle times, first-time-right accuracy, and ticket aging).
• Executive Liaison: Function as the key advisor and primary point of contact for client leadership across corporate HR, Benefits, Payroll, Finance, and IT departments.
• Continuous Optimization: Map out and execute an ongoing automation and continuous improvement roadmap designed to reduce overall support ticket volumes and accelerate processing times.
Team & Transition Management
• People Development: Manage, coach, and balance the utilization of a delivery team of functional analysts.
• Onboarding & Transition: Lead operational handoffs from legacy vendors or internal client teams, developing robust runbooks, standard operating procedures, and stabilization planning.
Required Skills & Experience
• Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience within HRIS, Payroll, and Benefits technology environments, with a proven track record in a consulting or SLA-driven managed services model.
• Platform Expertise: Advanced functional/technical depth in UKG (Kronos)
• Integration Fluency: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot data flows, data mappings, and system interfaces connecting HR technology to downstream financial ledger systems.
• Domain Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end “Hire-to-Retire” lifecycle, payroll tax compliance, statutory regulations, and benefit structure operations.
• Data Privacy: Strict understanding of data protection frameworks and access controls governing highly sensitive enterprise information (PII/PHI).
Preferred Qualifications
• Industry Focus: Direct experience managing HR/Payroll applications within a healthcare, hospital network, or highly regulated corporate landscape.
• Ecosystem Familiarity: Prior experience working with enterprise financial modules (e.g., Infor, Workday, SAP) for payroll journal entries and GL mapping.
• Service Management: Familiarity with enterprise incident tracking and ITIL frameworks using tools like ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.
