Job Title: HR Specialist / Total Rewards Business Partner Location: Waukegan Rd North Chicago, IL 60064 Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Onsite / Monday & Friday Remote) Duration: 6 Months (High likelihood of extension up to 1 year+) Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week (Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM M–F, with flexibility for global team coordination) Position Overview: We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Total Rewards Business Partner / HR Specialist to join our Global Total Rewards team. This role will support ongoing, business-as-usual compensation operations, ensuring seamless execution of competitive compensation offers and data management. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will handle a high volume of compensation requests across multiple global functions, ensuring adherence to internal equity, market competitiveness, and established turnaround SLAs (24–48 hours for external offers; 48–72 hours for internal offers). Key Responsibilities: • Compensation Offer Development: Analyze compensation data, peer groups, and market benchmarking to formulate base salary, incentive programs, sign-on bonuses, and cash-based package recommendations for new hires and internal moves. • Data Auditing & HRIS Maintenance: Audit employee compensation data across HRIS systems (Workday) to ensure complete data integrity, process compliance, and seamless support for year-end planning activities. • Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as an advisory partner to Talent Acquisition (TA) and Business Human Resources (BHR), articulating and justifying the business rationale behind compensation recommendations. • Data Operations & Analytics: Manage operational compensation tasks including data loads, submissions, employee record updates, and tool maintenance. Navigate analytics tools to surface operational trends and actionable insights. • Benchmarking & Job Evaluation Support: Support senior team members with job evaluations, benchmarking studies, grade/job code assignments, and salary structure maintenance using market data sources. • Expected Workload: Manage approximately 10–15 compensation offers per week (each taking ~1–2 hours), while dedicating remaining capacity to data auditing, reporting, and operational support. Required Qualifications & Skills: Core Competencies & Education • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Finance, Analytics, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, HR Operations, or HR Analytics with a focus on compensation administration. • Compensation Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to evaluate peer groups, interpret market data, exercise sound business judgment, and clearly communicate compensation offer rationales to stakeholders. • Soft Skills: High level of coachability, adaptability, collaborative mindset ("One HR" approach), attention to detail, and ability to work independently within established guidelines. Technical Skills: • Microsoft Excel (Advanced Level Required): Must be highly proficient in creating and troubleshooting Pivot Tables, complex VLOOKUPs, IF statements, AVERAGEIFS, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, and aggregate formulas. • Note: Candidates will be required to demonstrate/submit proof of advanced Excel proficiency prior to consideration. • HRIS Systems: Working knowledge of Workday (specifically exporting reports, data loading, auditing employee records, and maintaining data accuracy). • HR Analytics & Benchmarking Tools (End-User Proficiency): Experience navigating dashboard platforms such as Power BI, Visier, or benchmarking applications like CompAnalyst (development/programming experience is not required; ability to use dashboards for data retrieval is expected).
