IBM Cognos Report Developer

IBM Cognos Report Developer – Madison, WI (Onsite) Contract Duration: 6 Months Location: Madison, WI (Onsite) We are seeking an experienced IBM Cognos Report Developer to design, build, and optimize enterprise-level BI solutions. This role requires strong Cognos Analytics expertise, deep data modeling skills, and the ability to work closely with business and technical teams in an Agile environment. Responsibilities • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc queries using IBM Cognos Analytics. • Design and build metadata models in Framework Manager. • Perform data modeling, performance tuning, and report optimization. • Integrate Cognos reporting with other enterprise systems. • Document reporting solutions, models, architectures, and best practices. • Support end-users and provide training on Cognos tools. • Analyze AS-IS architecture and identify gaps, limitations, and improvement opportunities. • Define future-state (TO-BE) BI architecture aligned with business needs. • Provide guidance on industry best practices for Cognos data modeling and semantic modeling. • Collaborate across teams in an Agile delivery model. Required Skills • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience with IBM Cognos Analytics, including: • Report Studio • Query Studio • Workspace • Dashboarding • Cognos Connection • Framework Manager • Strong data modeling and BI development experience. • Experience building performant, scalable BI solutions. • Ability to analyze, extract, and present data clearly. • Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities. Nice to Have • Experience with Tableau or Power BI. • Understanding of semantic modeling and intent modeling in Cognos.
