Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IBM DataPower Engineer to support and enhance enterprise integration platforms, API gateways, and secure messaging infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IBM DataPower X2/X3 appliances, IBM MQ (WMQ), API security, automation, troubleshooting, and enterprise integration architecture. This role will partner with application, infrastructure, security, and architecture teams to design, implement, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable integration solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM DataPower X2/X3 Appliances.
• Strong expertise in DataPower Proxy Services, Multi-Protocol Gateways (MPGW), Web Service Proxy (WSP), and API Gateway implementations.
• Experience designing and implementing secure integration solutions and enterprise integration frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, WS-Security, Authentication, Authorization, TLS/SSL, and API Security.
• Hands-on experience with GatewayScript, XSLT Transformations, XML, JSON, SOAP, and REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of protocol mediation, orchestration, routing, encryption, and service virtualization.
• Experience managing TLS certificates, renewals, and production deployments.
• Expertise in DataPower administration, appliance setup, initialization, networking, and domain management.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills for API and integration issues.
• Experience documenting production incidents, RCA reports, migration plans, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
• Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere MQ (WMQ/IBM MQ) installation, configuration, clustering, failover, and HA environments.
• Experience with DataPower Ops Dashboard (DPOD) monitoring and administration.
• Familiarity with monitoring and debugging tools such as Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Splunk, and similar platforms.
• Experience with SOMA and REST Management APIs for DataPower automation and deployments.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps tools including TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Python.
• Experience supporting Data Center migrations, modernization initiatives, and enterprise integration platforms.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with enterprise API management and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and hybrid integration environments.
• Experience leveraging AI-powered tools and automation to streamline DataPower development, testing, and operational processes.
• IBM DataPower and IBM MQ certifications are a plus.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and support secure integration solutions using IBM DataPower.
• Implement API security, routing, mediation, transformation, and protocol bridging solutions.
• Manage DataPower appliances, domains, certificates, and production deployments.
• Configure and support IBM MQ environments, clustering, failover, and high availability.

• Troubleshoot complex integration issues and lead root cause analysis efforts.
