Role description
We improve lives
IDB Invest is the private sector arm of the IDB Group and an international financial institution committed to addressing the development needs of Latin America and the Caribbean. Our mission is to support sustainable enterprises and projects that deliver financial results while maximizing social and environmental impact in the region.
IDB Invest operates in 26 countries, structured across four geographic regions and three industry verticals: Infrastructure and Energy, Financial Intermediaries, and Corporates.
In support of a new transformative business model “Originate to Share” our shareholders recently approved a $3.5 billion capitalization. This will allow IDB Invest to significantly scale up its investments, to approximately $19 billion, and unlocking greater private sector participation to drive development and climate impact across the region.
About This Position
We are looking for a highly analytical, resourceful, and proactive Project Analytics and Reporting Analyst. As such, you will strengthen the analytics ecosystem related to a portfolio of capital projects to facilitate strategic decision-making and prioritization of initiatives. You will also support the project management function at IDB Invest to ensure capital projects are successfully deployed and adopted.
You will work in the Program Management Team (PMT), part of the Operations Division (OPD) within the Finance and Administration (FNA) department in IDB Invest. This team is responsible for ensuring project governance, prioritization based on solid business cases, monitoring and reporting on a portfolio of capital projects, and facilitating decision-making.
What You’ll Do
• Facilitate Project Management Huddles and governance forums by preparing agendas, coordinating and analyzing inputs, guiding discussions toward decisions, capturing actions, and ensuring timely follow‑up and closure.
• Advise project teams on governance, Project Management best practices, and PMT methodologies, ensuring consistent application of PMT tools, templates, benefit‑tracking frameworks, and reporting standards across projects.
• Drive governance processes and compliance by reviewing Project Authorization Documents (including ROI analysis), validating completeness and quality of submissions, and ensuring adherence to PMT templates, controls, and approval workflows.
• Manage capital budget processes end‑to‑end, including coordinating resource budget requests, supporting capital budget transfers with the IIC Budget Team, and maintaining accurate, auditable records of approvals and movements.
• Support intake and classification of new Capital Project (CP) requests by facilitating governance intake workflows, confirming alignment with institutional criteria, and ensuring timely escalation and documentation.
• Prepare dashboards, portfolio reports, and decision materials for senior management and IDB Invest committees, delivering portfolio‑level insights, identifying cross‑project synergies and dependencies, and supporting checkpoint and monthly governance meetings.
• Track, document, and report governance outcomes by maintaining records of decisions, agreements, and action items; following up on pending items; and ensuring transparency and traceability.
• Coordinate and synthesize inputs for strategic discussions, including lessons learned, emerging risks, dependencies, mitigation strategies, and portfolio trends to support institutional decision‑making.
• Serve as liaison between business units and Technology, supporting alignment of initiatives with institutional strategy, facilitating cross‑functional collaboration, and contributing to transformation initiatives through process mapping and continuous improvement.
• Maintain PMT communication and knowledge channels (shared PMT mailbox, PMT Portal/website) and develop standardized communications (e.g., templates for Capital Project Business Case submissions); contribute to organization‑wide initiatives, and perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Support the design and evolution of Change management framework and project action plans
