Role description
Key Responsibilities:
• Hands-on development and support of new and existing data integration applications using Informatica (PowerCenter, IICS, or equivalent), with a strong focus on code quality, deployments, and operational stability.
• Informatica coding and implementation: design and build mappings, mapplets, reusable transformations, workflows, sessions, parameter files, and deployment artifacts; implement error handling, logging, and restart ability.
• SQL analysis and optimization: author and tune complex SQL queries, analyze execution plans, optimize joins/index usage, and implement set-based transformations for performance and scalability.
• Translate business requirements into data solutions: work with business analysts to profile source data, define transformation logic, and validate outputs against business rules.
• Architectural collaboration: work closely with Application and Enterprise Architects to implement low-level designs aligned with established data flow and governance standards.
• Production support and incident management: troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes to ensure data pipeline reliability and performance.
• Code quality and standards: follow established coding standards, participate in code reviews, and ensure maintainable and reusable development practices.
• Documentation and knowledge transfer: maintain clear and detailed technical documentation for mappings, data models, interfaces, and downstream integrations.
• Prioritization and execution: work with product owners and project managers to deliver enhancements, new development, and maintenance tasks within defined timelines.
• Exposure to modern platforms: contribute to initiatives involving ELT/modern data platforms (Databricks preferred), automation, and orchestration tools.
• Stakeholder communication: provide regular updates on development, progress, risks, and blockers to technical and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
• 5–8+ years of hands-on experience developing Data Warehouse, data integration, or data engineering solutions.
• Strong Informatica expertise: experience building and maintaining mappings, workflows, parameterization, reusable components, and deployment packages.
• Advanced SQL skills: ability to write, profile, and optimize complex SQL; experience with query tuning, indexing strategies, and analyzing execution plans.
• Data modeling knowledge: understanding of dimensional and normalized modeling, including star/snowflake schemas.
• Experience with ELT and modern stacks: exposure to Databricks or INFORMATICA platforms preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for production support, performance issues, and data quality problems.
• Good communication skills: able to work effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders, and contribute to clear documentation.
