"Candidates outside the Los Angeles area are kindly asked not to apply.” Title: Informatics Data Analyst Sector: Los Angeles County Client Department: Health Services Work Location: Los Angeles, CA Onsite Requirement: Onsite Livescan Required: Yes Duration: 12 Months Work Hours: 40 hours per week (Standard Shift) Positions Available: 2 Sponsorship: NO Position Overview: The Informatics Data Analyst will: β€’ Document data acquisition policies and workflows. β€’ Collaborate with multiple business units to define and document data needs. β€’ Analyze and optimize data systems and performance. β€’ Develop reports and dashboards to monitor operational and financial performance. β€’ Perform data validation, mapping, and integration using tools like SAS, SQL, Business Objects, and Excel. β€’ Conduct quality assurance for data integration and repository metrics. β€’ Coordinate with IT and Security teams for secure data transfers (PGP, FTP). Required Skills: β€’ Solid understanding of statistical concepts, data mining, and data validation. β€’ Proficiency in SQL, SAS, Microsoft Access, Excel, and Business Objects. β€’ Knowledge of data warehouse design and reporting tools. β€’ Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills. β€’ Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills: β€’ 3+ years in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex Transact-SQL / PL/SQL. β€’ Experience with ETL processes, Tableau, Business Objects, and data modeling. β€’ Familiarity with data transformation, cleansing, and normalization techniques. β€’ Experience translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences. β€’ Proven ability to document user requirements for large systems or enhancements. Experience & Education: β€’ Minimum Experience: 2+ years in data processing, management, or information retrieval. β€’ Preferred Experience: 3+ years in SQL, BI solutions, and data analysis (as listed above). β€’ Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in IT or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
