Position Overview:
The Informatics Data Analyst will:
β’ Document data acquisition policies and workflows.
β’ Collaborate with multiple business units to define and document data needs.
β’ Analyze and optimize data systems and performance.
β’ Develop reports and dashboards to monitor operational and financial performance.
β’ Perform data validation, mapping, and integration using tools like SAS, SQL, Business Objects, and Excel.
β’ Conduct quality assurance for data integration and repository metrics.
β’ Coordinate with IT and Security teams for secure data transfers (PGP, FTP).
Required Skills:
β’ Solid understanding of statistical concepts, data mining, and data validation.
β’ Proficiency in SQL, SAS, Microsoft Access, Excel, and Business Objects.
β’ Knowledge of data warehouse design and reporting tools.
β’ Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
β’ Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
β’ 3+ years in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex Transact-SQL / PL/SQL.
β’ Experience with ETL processes, Tableau, Business Objects, and data modeling.
β’ Familiarity with data transformation, cleansing, and normalization techniques.
β’ Experience translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
β’ Proven ability to document user requirements for large systems or enhancements.
Experience & Education:
β’ Minimum Experience: 2+ years in data processing, management, or information retrieval.
β’ Preferred Experience: 3+ years in SQL, BI solutions, and data analysis (as listed above).
β’ Education Required: Bachelorβs degree in IT or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
