Role description
Insight Global is partnering with a Tier 1 bank on a major Finance ERP transformation programme spanning London and Canada. The programme is delivering a next-generation accounting sub-ledger for Wealth Management, with broader capabilities across GL, Payments, Reconciliation, and Reporting.
We are seeking an IT Business Analyst to sit at the intersection of the Finance and Technology teams — translating Finance requirements into structured, actionable specifications for the ERP delivery team. You will work closely with Finance stakeholders to collate and document requirements, support data validation and testing activity, and act as a bridge between business users and technical delivery.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Requirements Collation & Analysis
• Work directly with Finance stakeholders to gather, collate, and structure ERP requirements across GL, Payments, Reconciliation, and Reporting workstreams.
• Facilitate workshops and sign-off sessions with Finance SMEs; translate outputs into clear functional and technical specifications.
• Maintain requirements traceability and ensure alignment between Finance needs and system configuration decisions.
• Produce well-structured BRDs, user stories, process flows, and functional documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Data Validation & Testing Support
• Work with Finance to validate trading and investment data — using Excel and SQL to check that all fields are complete, correctly attributed, and consistent across source systems.
• Support the creation of test scenarios, scripts, and UAT acceptance criteria.
• Participate in QA/UAT execution, defect triage, and change request processes alongside Finance and technical teams.
• Support data migration activities including mapping, cleansing, reconciliation, and validation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Programme Coordination
• Act as the IT BA interface between Finance (requirements owners) and the technical delivery and ERP configuration teams.
• Communicate requirements, design decisions, risks, and status clearly across both Finance and IT stakeholders.
• Prepare end-user documentation, training materials, and change-readiness artefacts.
• Support the London phase of the sub-ledger build-out as it moves beyond read-only into full implementation.
Qualifications:
• Proven IT Business Analyst experience on Finance or ERP transformation programmes.
• Strong Excel and SQL skills — comfortable using both for data validation, reconciliation, and analysis (e.g. checking trade/investment data completeness and attribute accuracy).
• Understanding of Wealth Management product lifecycles (securities, deposits, loans, investments, etc.).
• Experience collating and documenting requirements from Finance or business stakeholders in a structured, traceable way.
• Ability to work across ambiguous problem statements and translate Finance concepts into clear IT specifications.
• Experience supporting testing cycles — including writing test scripts, UAT participation, and defect management.
• Exposure to data migration activities (mapping, validation, reconciliation).
• Strong communication and workshop facilitation skills; able to work confidently across Finance and Technology teams.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
Plusses:
• Prior ERP configuration experience — SAP FPSL, Oracle AHCS, or similar Finance ERP platforms (even in an earlier career phase or adjacent role).
• Experience with Aptitude (Aptitude Accounting Hub / RevStream) or similar sub-ledger tooling.
• Familiarity with accounting principles — GL, accruals, multi-ledger/multi-GAAP, IFRS 9/17.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
• Background in financial services or investment banking environments.
