Location: REMOTE; Omaha, NE
Employment Type: W-2 Contract | 12 Months
Pay Range: $50 β $55/hour (W2)

Capstone IT is partnering with a leading insurance and financial services provider, consistently recognized as a βBest Place to Work,β to hire an experienced IT Business Analyst for a 12-month W2 contract (with potential for contract-to-hire). This role is 100% remote, supporting a large IT team operating within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
As a key member of the Agile delivery team, the Business Analyst will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teamsβdriving requirements gathering, process mapping, and user story creation with well-defined acceptance criteria. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to document testable functional and non-functional requirements, support test planning and execution, and validate backend integrations. Additional responsibilities include logging and tracking defects and ensuring deliverables align with business objectives and Agile standards.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and excels in cross-team collaboration. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Proficiency with Jira, qTest, and Postman and familiarity with Agiloft is highly valued.

Responsibilities
β’ Act as a core member of a SAFe Agile team, participating in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily standups.
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather feedback, define needs, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
β’ Write clear, testable user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria; own them through testing and delivery.
β’ Document business processes, workflows, system details, and meeting notes throughout the project lifecycle.
β’ Provide reporting and production support tasks as needed while building knowledge of business processes and compliance workflows.
β’ Partner with QA teams to create and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts for enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
β’ Test backend integrations and APIs with Postman and validate UI functionality to ensure seamless data flow and user experience.
β’ Track, manage, and retest defects in Jira and qTest until resolved.
β’ Escalate risks or blockers quickly to keep projects moving.
β’ Share updates and clarifications via Microsoft Teams, Jira, and email.
β’ Deliver at least 85% of committed story points per sprint; ensure all stories meet acceptance criteria.
β’ Follow Agile best practices, security standards, and compliance requirements.
β’ Continuously learn, adapt, and recommend improvements in tools, processes, and collaboration.
Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
β’ 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Agile or SAFe environments.
β’ Strong background in stakeholder engagement, business process mapping, and requirements analysis.
β’ Proven ability to write clear, testable user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
β’ Experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and defect tracking in collaboration with QA teams.
β’ Proficient with Jira, qTest, and Postman for requirements, testing, and defect management.
β’ Familiarity with Agiloft and Balsamiq is a plus.
β’ Skilled in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
β’ Effective communicator able to bridge technical and business stakeholders.
β’ Capable of working independently with a proactive, self-directed approach in dynamic environments.
β’ Adaptable to shifting priorities while maintaining focus on quality deliverables.
