📌 Job Title: Business Analyst (Asset Failure Analysis) Location: Remote (PST Hours Required) Office: 3400 Crow Canyon Road, Danville, CA 94583 Duration: 12 Months Rate: $50–65/hr on W2 Openings: 2 🌐 Work Setup • Fully remote role (open to local & non-local candidates) • Must be available to work PST hours (8 AM – 5 PM) • Occasional in-person meetings in San Ramon, CA (few times per year) • Client laptop provided for candidates within service territory • Non-local candidates must have their own device (or vendor-provided) 🎯 About the Role We are seeking a data-driven Business Analyst to join the Asset Failure Analysis team supporting critical initiatives focused on reducing wildfire risk and improving system reliability. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about analyzing asset performance data, identifying trends, and delivering actionable insights that drive operational and strategic decisions. 🔑 Key Responsibilities • Analyze asset failure and historical performance data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities • Develop dashboards, reports, and data models to support business functions such as operations, compliance, and strategy • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define KPIs and performance metrics • Translate data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders • Support data extraction, cleansing, and transformation for reporting and analysis • Contribute to process improvements and forecasting initiatives • Ensure data integrity and consistency across reporting systems ✅ Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Economics, or related field • 2–5 years of experience in a business analytics or data-focused role (3–5 years ideal) • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts) • Experience working with large datasets and data visualization • Strong communication skills with ability to present insights clearly ⭐ Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Palantir Foundry or similar data platforms (highly preferred but not required) • Prior experience or similar utility/infrastructure domain • Exposure to SQL, Python, or data querying tools • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau 🔍 What We’re Looking For • Strong analytical mindset with ability to derive insights from complex datasets • Candidates with utility experience OR Palantir Foundry experience are highly preferred • Mid-level candidates (3–5 years) — not too junior, not overqualified • Someone who can work independently in a remote setup and collaborate effectively across teams • Willingness to work in PST time zone 🚫 Important Notes • Overqualified candidates (7+ years) may not be considered • Candidates must have hands-on data analysis experience (not just requirements gathering) 💬 Why Join? • Opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives related to wildfire risk reduction and grid reliability • Collaborative, data-driven environment • Exposure to advanced analytics platforms and utility operations
