Role description
Role Summary:
Aubay is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in finance systems and cloud migration to support our clientβs project to migrate their general ledger system (e.g., CODA) to a cloud environment. The role involves gathering and analysing requirements, mapping current and future processes, and producing functional specifications to ensure a smooth transition. You will act as a key bridge between Finance, Operations, IT teams, and third-party vendors, facilitating workshops, managing stakeholder expectations, and supporting testing activities such as UAT and regression testing.
This position requires the successful candidate to work onsite in Solihull three days per week (non-negotiable), with the remainder of the time remote.
Purpose of the Role:
β’ To gather requirements, analyse, document, and propose solutions for migrating the finance general ledger system (e.g., CODA) to a cloud environment.
β’ Map out current βas-isβ processes and βto beβ processes
β’ The role ensures smooth transition by acting as a bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendor
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
β’ Gather, understand, and transmit business requirements using MoSCoW prioritisation.
β’ Documentation of requirements and necessary approvals
β’ Process mapping of as-is and to be processes
β’ Lead workshops with Finance, Operations, and IT teams to capture migration needs.
β’ Analyse implications across accounting processes, reporting, and compliance.
Documentation & Specifications
β’ Produce functional specifications and detailed test plans for cloud migration.
β’ Document workflows and obtain sign-off from finance stakeholders.
β’ Maintain traceability between requirements and deliverables.
Testing & Validation
β’ Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing for CODA cloud integration.
β’ Design and execute test scenarios with the Test Manager and Finance SMEs.
Stakeholder Management
β’ Act as the interface between Finance, Development, Infrastructure, and external vendors.
β’ Provide weekly progress reports, highlighting risks and dependencies.
Essential Skills and Expertise:
β’ Strong knowledge of finance systems and general ledger processes.
β’ Experience with cloud migration projects (preferably CODA or similar ERP).
β’ Proficiency in business process modelling, functional specification writing, and UAT.
β’ Familiarity with SQL, SFTP, and integration layers for financial data flows
β’ Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
