Greetings We are Senior Innovation Technologist position Forward Deployed Engineer (FED) - Urgent London Hybrid 2 days onsite Context A Senior Innovation technologist is a hybrid professional who combines technical skills (like software development, hardware engineering, or digital fabrication) with creative thinking (such as design, storytelling, and user experience) to build innovative, often interactive experiences. In Simple Terms: An innovation technologist uses technology as a creative medium—like an artist uses paint or a musician uses instruments—to bring ideas to life, often in new or unexpected ways. What They Typically Do: • Prototype ideas quickly using code, electronics, sensors, AI, or immersive tech (like AR/VR). • Collaborate with creatives (designers, artists, strategists) and developers to make experimental digital projects. • Bridge the gap between concept and implementation—turning “what if?” into “here it is.” Common Areas of Work: • Advertising and media: Creating interactive installations, digital billboards, or tech-driven campaigns. • Startups & product innovation: Rapid prototyping for new digital products. • Museums & events: Building experiential exhibits or immersive environments. • AI and generative art: Using algorithms and data as tools of expression. Example Projects: • Using AI to accelerate the SDLC • Insurance: IoT data used to enable continuous underwriting and more accurate pricing • A hyper-personalised Loans product with unique rates and terms & Conditions. • Creating a cost optimised multi model journey management tool Key Skills: • Knowledge of GCP Cloud architecture, development and deployment (K8s) • Coding (JavaScript, Python, Java, etc.) • UX/UI design • AI/ML, generative design, 3D engines (e.g. Unity)
