Role description
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Integrations and Data Migration Developer to support a large-scale enterprise software implementation within a complex local government environment. This role will be part of the Information Technology team and will contribute to the successful deployment of a comprehensive records management system.
The ideal candidate will work closely with software developers, business analysts, project managers, stakeholders, and third-party vendors throughout the full project lifecycle. This role requires strong expertise in data migration, system integrations, ETL processes, and database development, along with a deep understanding of business processes and data architecture.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement data migration strategies and processes.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data between systems.
• Ensure data integrity, validation, and accuracy throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain integration components using various programming languages and tools.
• Work directly with stakeholders and vendors to gather requirements and validate data mappings.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration and migration issues, including performance tuning and error handling.
• Document technical specifications, migration plans, integration processes, and post-migration validations.
• Monitor integration performance and ensure system uptime and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system implementation and enhancements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in database development or software development.
• Proven track record delivering complex enterprise-level IT projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality assurance mindset.
Technical Requirements
• Extensive experience with Oracle PL/SQL or SQL Server development.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and database architecture.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data integration platforms.
• Experience developing integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, including JSON/XML.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is a plus.
Preferred Experience
• Experience supporting large-scale system implementations in complex environments.
• Prior work within public sector or enterprise-level organizations is highly desirable.
