Interface Engineer – Healthcare Integration (HL7 / Iguana)

Job Description Our client is seeking an experienced Interface Engineer to support a healthcare integration initiative involving a custom Microsoft Dynamics (D365)-based EHR and a Health Information Exchange (HIE). This engagement is focused on designing and building outbound interfaces to enable data exchange with external systems. The goal is to ensure accurate, reliable transmission of clinical and patient data while aligning with external HIE specifications. This is a hands-on role requiring strong experience in HL7 interfaces, data mapping, and working within interface engines. Responsibilities • Design and build outbound HL7 interfaces (primarily CCDA and/or ADT) • Configure and develop interfaces using an existing interface engine (Iguana preferred) • Map and transform data from SQL Server / D365 into HL7 or CCDA formats • Configure and manage file-based integrations (SFTP) for data transmission • Troubleshoot interface issues, including data formatting and transmission errors • Work closely with internal IT and clinical informatics teams to validate data accuracy • Support testing cycles with external partners (HIE) and resolve feedback/issues • Ensure interfaces are stable, scalable, and aligned with integration best practices Qualifications • Hands-on experience building HL7 interfaces (required) • Experience with interface engines such as Iguana, Mirth, Cloverleaf, or similar • Strong understanding of HL7 message structures (PID, PV1, etc.) • Experience working with SQL Server and data extraction/mapping • Experience with SFTP or file-based data integrations • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve interface/data issues independently • Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and clinical teams • Experience with HIE integrations or external data exchange (preferred) • Familiarity with CCDA (preferred) Equal Opportunity Statement Hit That Noggin (HTN) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
