Role description
Global Accounting Network is partnering with a growing children's nursery group to appoint an experienced Finance Data Analyst / Financial Modeller on an interim basis for 12 months. This is a newly created role as the business brings its financial modelling capability in-house, having previously outsourced the function. Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll play a key role in building robust financial models that support strategic decision-making, operational planning and future growth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building models from the ground up and partnering with stakeholders to drive commercial insight. Key Responsibilities: • Develop, enhance and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making. • Analyse nursery performance using key operational metrics, including occupancy levels, number of children, staffing ratios and profitability. • Produce forecasting models around future growth, capacity planning and workforce requirements across the nursery portfolio. • Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning. • Partner with operational leaders to provide commercial insight and recommendations. • Deliver financial analysis to support acquisitions, new site openings and wider M&A activity. • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, modelling and planning processes as the function is established internally. About You: • Strong financial analysis or FP&A experience. • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills are essential. • Experience building and maintaining complex financial models from scratch. • Commercially minded with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights. • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and challenging assumptions. • Previous experience within multi-site businesses (retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, childcare or similar) would be highly advantageous. • M&A, investment appraisal or expansion modelling experience would be beneficial. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organisation at an exciting stage of its journey, taking ownership of a brand-new function with the opportunity to make a lasting impact. There is also genuine potential for the role to become permanent following the initial contract. If you're available to start within the next 2-4 weeks and would like to hear more, please get in touch.
