Interim Finance Professional, Finance and Data (Power BI), Midlands (Hybrid) A fast-growing listed business is hiring an Interim Finance Professional to sit at the point where finance and technology meet. This is a contract role for someone who understands the numbers and the systems behind them, brought in to lift the quality of the data the finance team relies on and to build genuinely useful Power BI dashboards. If you are an experienced contractor who is equally comfortable in a P&L and in a data model, this Interim Finance position offers a high-impact assignment in a business that is scaling fast. • • This role can be worked mostly remotely but Midlands based candidates who can offer some office presence will be prioritised. The Role: Reporting into senior finance, you will act as the bridge between the finance function and the wider technology and data teams. The brief is twofold. First, improve the integrity, consistency and usability of the data flowing into finance, so the team can trust what they are working with. Second, design, build and refine Power BI dashboards that turn that data into clear, decision-ready reporting for finance and the wider leadership group. This is hands-on, delivery-focused work where you will quickly become the person finance turns to for management information. Just as importantly, the work you do here lays the groundwork for the organisation's next step into AI-focused projects. Clean, well-structured, well-governed data is the foundation any AI initiative depends on, and this Interim Finance Professional role is where that foundation gets built. You will leave the business with both the data quality and the reporting infrastructure needed to support more advanced analytics and automation down the line. Key Responsibilities: • Improve the accuracy, structure and reliability of the data available to the finance team • Build, maintain and continuously improve Power BI dashboards and reports • Work across finance and technology to align data sources, definitions and reporting logic • Translate finance requirements into clear, usable management information • Help establish the data foundations that will support future AI and automation projects What You Will Deliver: • A finance team that can trust its data and spend less time fixing it • A suite of Power BI dashboards the business genuinely uses to make decisions • Stronger data governance and structure across the finance function • A clear, credible starting point for the organisation's AI ambitions What We Are Looking For: You are an experienced finance contractor with a genuine background in finance and a real strength in data and reporting. A recognised qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is welcome but not essential, and we are equally interested in candidates who are qualified by experience.
