Role description
Interim Senior Public Health Analyst (Public Health Advanced Practitioner/Intelligence) Based in Berkshire, hybrid Length: 2 months Inside IR35 We are seeking an experienced and motivated Public Health Advanced Practitioner to lead the Public Health Intelligence function of a Local Authority. This is a pivotal role where you will transform complex data into meaningful insight, helping to tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes for our residents. You’ll work at the heart of decision-making, influencing strategy across the Council and wider health and care system. Key Responsibilities include: • Leading the development of Public Health Intelligence across the borough • Managing and delivering complex analytical programmes and projects, turning data into actionable insight that shapes public health decisions • Producing and overseeing key intelligence outputs such as: • Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) • Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) • Other health needs assessments including APHA • Ensuring robust data governance, including secure handling of sensitive datasets • Driving a data-driven culture, promoting best practice in analysis, modelling, and visualisation • Leading and mentoring a small team of practitioners • Building strong partnerships across the Council, NHS, and regional networks Experience and knowledge required: • Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field (e.g. public health, statistics, health sciences) • Strong experience in public health intelligence or health data analysis • Expertise in statistical and analytical techniques for large datasets • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and information security • Postgraduate qualification in public health, epidemiology, or similar • Experience with tools such as R, SPSS, SQL, Power BI, or GIS tools To apply for this role or to find out about other jobs, please contact the London Local Government Recruitment team
