Role description
Job Description: Inventory Reserve Ownership β€’ Lead the review of Safety, Sensing & Industrial Components (SIC) business inventory reserves on a monthly and quarterly basis β€’ Analyze data on slow-moving, excess, and obsolete (E&O) inventory and provide recommendations to Finance β€’ Partner with Product Management and Operations to understand usage patterns, obsolescence risks, and business decisions impacting reserve levels β€’ Track aging inventory trends and support initiatives to reduce reserve impact Reporting & Insights Development β€’ Maintain and evolve productivity and inventory-related dashboards and trackers β€’ Analyze trends and present clear, concise summaries to support strategic decision-making β€’ Provide data extracts and visualization support for leadership presentations and business reviews β€’ Respond to ad hoc data requests related to cost savings, aging inventory, and spend visibility Cross-Functional Collaboration β€’ Work directly with Finance, Product Management, Operations, and Sourcing to validate data and align on shared priorities β€’ Support the business unit’s productivity targets by ensuring accurate tracking and reporting β€’ Build strong working relationships to navigate the matrixed organization and drive aligned actions Required Skills β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities β€’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation) β€’ Experience working with large datasets and translating data into actionable insights β€’ Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills β€’ Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Product Management, and Operations β€’ Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy β€’ Ability to manage recurring tasks while responding to ad hoc analysis requests β€’ Experience using ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) for data review or procurement activities Preferred Skills β€’ Familiarity with inventory reserve processes, including excess and obsolete (E&O) analysis β€’ Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other dashboard/reporting tools β€’ Understanding of procurement workflows, shopping cart creation, and shipping coordination β€’ Knowledge of cost accounting or manufacturing environments β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field β€’ Exposure to continuous improvement or Lean methodologies (e.g., Yellow Belt training) Minimum Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field β€’ 2+ years of experience in analytics, finance, supply chain, or reporting roles β€’ Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation) β€’ Analytical thinker with the ability to derive insights from large datasets β€’ Clear and effective communicator β€” both written and verbal Preferred Qualifications: β€’ Experience reviewing inventory reserves or exposure to E&O reserve calculations. β€’ Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems. β€’ Working knowledge of Power BI, or other dashboarding tools. β€’ Understanding of cost drivers in manufacturing or distribution environments.
