Role description
Inventory Reserve Ownership
Lead the review of Safety, Sensing & Industrial Components (SIC) business inventory reserves on a monthly and quarterly basis
Analyze data on slow-moving, excess, and obsolete (E&O) inventory and provide recommendations to Finance
Partner with Product Management and Operations to understand usage patterns, obsolescence risks, and business decisions impacting reserve levels
Track aging inventory trends and support initiatives to reduce reserve impact
Reporting & Insights Development
Maintain and evolve productivity and inventory-related dashboards and trackers
Analyze trends and present clear, concise summaries to support strategic decision-making
Provide data extracts and visualization support for leadership presentations and business reviews
Respond to ad hoc data requests related to cost savings, aging inventory, and spend visibility
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work directly with Finance, Product Management, Operations, and Sourcing to validate data and align on shared priorities
Support the business unit’s productivity targets by ensuring accurate tracking and reporting
Build strong working relationships to navigate the matrixed organization and drive aligned actions
Required Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation)
Experience working with large datasets and translating data into actionable insights
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Product Management, and Operations
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage recurring tasks while responding to ad hoc analysis requests
Experience using ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) for data review or procurement activities
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with inventory reserve processes, including excess and obsolete (E&O) analysis
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other dashboard/reporting tools
Understanding of procurement workflows, shopping cart creation, and shipping coordination
Knowledge of cost accounting or manufacturing environments
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field
Exposure to continuous improvement or Lean methodologies (e.g., Yellow Belt training)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field
2+ years of experience in analytics, finance, supply chain, or reporting roles
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation)
Analytical thinker with the ability to derive insights from large datasets
Clear and effective communicator — both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience reviewing inventory reserves or exposure to E&O reserve calculations
Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems
Working knowledge of Power BI, or other dashboarding tools
Understanding of cost drivers in manufacturing or distribution environments
Experience collaborating with Finance and Product Management teams
