Role description
Our client, a leading independent investment management firm, is seeking an experienced Performance Analyst for a 7+ month contract role. This position can be fully remote, but if candidate is located near Houston they could work onsite if desired.
Job Purpose (Job Summary):
As part of the Performance Measurement, Analytics and Reporting (βPMARβ) organization, the team collects and analyzes investment data. The key internal stakeholders include portfolio/product management, marketing, compliance, and investment management. This role is to support the day-to-day needs of the business and to help drive the team forward by being a key contributor to ongoing strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
β’ Calculate, review and verify performance data ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Interact with appropriate individuals/groups to resolve errors as necessary
β’ Maintain systems and databases by ensuring departmental procedures are followed to review the accuracy and integrity of performance data
β’ Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret anomalies and patterns in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and resolution of trends and troubleshoot issues
β’ Assist in the construction and maintenance of composites in compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards.
β’ Identify opportunities to streamline existing business processes by automating recurring and ad-hoc analyses into stable, repeatable reports, metrics, and dashboards.
β’ Interact regularly with clients to research, analyze and resolve queries
β’ Actively participate on special projects and support/implement process improvements/efficiencies
β’ Develop automated solutions via technical enhancements utilizing SQL and/or VBA
β’ Understand data infrastructure and work to resolve data issues
Work Experience / Knowledge:
β’ Strong exposure with analyzing large quantity and variety of data.
β’ Advanced Excel skills.
β’ Data visualization experience using Power BI, Tableau or any other visualization tool is an advantage.
β’ Experience partnering with IT engineers to design data repositories and pipelines desirable.
β’ Expertise in using data sourcing and analysis tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Python, SAS or R
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:
β’ Must have a proven background in problem solving complex issues
β’ You are an independent self-starter, positive can-do attitude that overcomes challenges and barriers.
β’ A have a high degree of curiosity and a desire to learn, including taking on results-oriented new assignments.
β’ Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and orally
β’ Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
β’ Must be able to cooperate in a hybrid team environment
