Role description
• RESTful API Development: Proficient in designing, implementing, and maintaining RESTful APIs, including defining API contracts.
• Event-Driven Architecture: Experienced with event-based systems, particularly Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Containerization: Skilled in developing containerized applications using Docker; familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus.
• UI Development: Proficient in front-end development with modern frameworks, especially Vue.js.
• Data Management: Proficient in SQL for querying, optimizing, and managing data across multiple databases, including DB2, SQL Server, etc.
• Integration with Cloud Services: Experience deploying applications to AWS CloudFront and understanding cloud architecture for frontend applications; Experience in Azure is a plus.
• Code Quality: Strong focus on writing maintainable and testable code, following SOLID principles.
• Technology Exploration: Motivated to research and adopt new technologies through diligent investigation.

Services Description:Operates as a core team member with other engineers on one of 8 teams within the Agile Scaled Framework within the IS Operation, supporting our Institutional Solutions business segment. (See Team Descriptions below) Lead the end-to-end development, testing, and integration of modern applications and systems that enhance capabilities for products and services across Institutional Solutions, aligning with enterprise growth initiatives.Facilitate brainstorming sessions to generate innovative solutions, developing high-performance applications, APIs, and data solutions that drive technological advancement.Adapt to various roles, whether as an individual contributor, leader, teacher, or mentor, fostering a collaborative and versatile team environment.Build a deep understanding of business objectives and challenges within Institutional Solutions, proactively delivering solutions that meet and exceed expectations.Continuously assess and optimize applications, balancing performance and scalability to deliver impactful, sustainable results. Deliverables Description (if applicable):Contribute to our tech modernization efforts for Institutional Annuity products to enable doubling of sales by 2027 in alignment with our enterprise initiative to generate 8% returns to fuel 8% growth. Delivery of 85% of committed story points in an iteration. Stories will meet all acceptance criteria. The percentage of re-opened bugs due to incomplete or incorrect fixes should be The number of defects found in production that were previously marked as fixed during testing Measure the percentage of lines, branches, and methods covered by unit tests should be 80-90%. Delivered code should be covered by automated integration/interaction/end-to-end tests following our standards. Code and documentation should be consistent, clear, and concise and must be understandable, testable, and maintainable adhering to our defined standards. Actively contribute to Agile team processes, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, fostering a collaborative environment where ideas can be shared freely, and feedback is welcomed for continuous improvement. Will be responsible for providing timely and effective technical assistance during off-hours as part of on-call rotation.Follow security policies, standards and expectations Follow communication expectations and contingency plans
• Leverage communication platforms (Microsoft Teams, Jira, email) to ask questions, raise issues, and share updates
• Escalate blockers with impact assessment immediately.
