Role description
Role summary This lead will own the end-to-end engagement, onboarding, and insights experience for partners consuming our quality and operations data. They will translate business needs into clear reporting, metrics, and data flows, and ensure the underlying file-upload processes are reliable, well-documented, and production-ready. The main function of a Data Analyst is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. Job Responsibilities: β€’ Work with senior management, technical and client teams in order to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage and analysis strategies β€’ Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions β€’ Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes β€’ Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes β€’ Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required β€’ 10+ years applicable experience required β€’ Experience with database technologies β€’ Knowledge of the ETL process β€’ Knowledge of at least one scripting language β€’ Strong written and oral communication skills β€’ Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills β€’ Demonstrated history of success β€’ Desire to be working with data and helping businesses make better data driven decisions This lead will own the end-to-end engagement, onboarding, and insights experience for partners consuming our quality and operations data. They will translate business needs into clear reporting, metrics, and data flows, and ensure the underlying file-upload processes are reliable, well-documented, and production-ready. Core scope β€’ Act as the primary point of contact for SQ digital and related stakeholder groups. β€’ Lead onboarding of new teams, plants, and systems (for example, Sterlz, SQMS, APS and similar platforms) onto our data and reporting solutions. β€’ Define and deliver standard reports, metrics, scorecards, and outcome metrics to support decision-making. β€’ Design and maintain data flows, visualizations, and curated data subsets that are intuitive for end users. β€’ Own the overall file-upload process for the team, including scheduling, documentation, monitoring, and incident response. β€’ Drive the path from concept to production for file-upload and reporting capabilities in partnership with engineering. Key responsibilities Engagement and onboarding β€’ Build and maintain strong relationships with SQ digital and other key stakeholders. β€’ Lead discovery and intake sessions to understand use cases and data needs. β€’ Plan and execute onboarding for new partners and systems, including communication, training, and readiness checks. β€’ Create simple reference materials (playbooks, quick-start guides) that make it easy for new teams to engage with the platform. Reporting, metrics, and insights β€’ Define the core metric set, scorecards, and outcome measures used to track performance. β€’ Partner with data engineering and analytics to design reports and dashboards that are accurate, timely, and actionable. β€’ Ensure alignment on definitions, calculation logic, and usage of metrics across stakeholders. β€’ Continuously gather feedback and iterate on reports, views, and insights to improve usability and adoption. Data flows and visualizations β€’ Map end-to-end data flows from source systems through file uploads into curated views and reports. β€’ Work with technical teams to design visualizations and data subsets that match how users think about their operations. β€’ Identify gaps, bottlenecks, or latency issues in the flow and drive remediation plans. File upload operations and process ownership β€’ Own the file-upload schedule across teams, including SLAs, sequencing, and dependencies. β€’ Create and maintain clear process diagrams for file-upload and downstream processing steps. β€’ Monitor latency, failure modes, and operational health, and lead root-cause analysis when issues occur. β€’ Coordinate on-call expectations and escalation paths for file-upload incidents across the team. β€’ Partner closely with named engineering leads (for example, Jeff and Mark) to move stable processes into production and continuously improve reliability. Ideal candidate profile β€’ Experience leading cross-functional initiatives at the intersection of data, operations, and stakeholder engagement. β€’ Strong understanding of data-driven reporting, scorecards, and outcome metrics in a complex operational environment. β€’ Comfortable owning operational processes end to end: mapping flows, defining schedules, documenting procedures, and managing on-call/escalations. β€’ Excellent communication and facilitation skills; able to translate between technical teams and business stakeholders. β€’ Proven track record of driving adoption of new tools and workflows across multiple teams or plants. Notes: β€’ Business Group – Data team for GPSE, all applications, purchasing and supply chain, in charge of making it available for the company to use β€’ Team – interacting with supply quality engineers, supplier quality data analysis, working with data engineers, team size is around 6-7 people β€’ Motivator for this position – extra hands need to help onboard suppliers β€’ Formal/informal stand up meeting for the day β€’ Have a list of suppliers that they are working with to make sure they get them onboarded β€’ Helping with any issues/concerns that the suppliers may have β€’ Technical aspects are already done, confirming and validating the engagement they have from the supplier and they confirm everything ran through correctly to make the data available internally for people in the org β€’ Chance for an extension – potentially will be extended, but will depend on the next few months β€’ Groundbreaking for GM and their team β€’ First time they have tried to connect the dots from a data perspective β€’ Data used to protect customers, identify issues early on that could impact a customer, they are trying to get ahead of that with this integration and suppliers β€’ Strong technical background – SQL, Python, understand how data flows β€’ Understanding of how an external party would interface from a data perspective (example: file upload, leveraging in API, high level third party integration understanding, operational process ownership, documentation β€’ Data awareness is very important for this position β€’ Understand data and bridge the gap with the suppliers β€’ Good communication skills β€’ Understanding Excel, spreadsheets, etc. β€’ Bonus – if the candidate has done reporting and dashboards previously (this is not required but a huge nice to have) Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field Years of experience: 8-10+ years of experience β€’ β€’ need someone high level – this is not an entry level position β€’ β€’
