Java/Python and Harness (DevOps/Cloud)

Job Summary Senior location: Pennington, New Jersey job type: Solutions salary: $62 - 66 per hour work hours: 9am to 5pm education: Bachelors Responsibilities Key Initiatives • DevOps Modernization: Upgrading the CICS DevOps Platform to a modern stack (GitHub + Harness + Azure). • AI Agent Engineering: Developing and governing AI Agents (using GitHub Copilot and Copilot Studio) to automate documentation, log analysis, and manual toil. • Cloud Migration: Moving existing on-prem agentic platforms to a cloud-native architecture. • Metrics & Observability: Implementing deep metrics initiatives to measure and improve developer productivity and platform health. Core Responsibilities • Engineering & Customization: Design and build large-scale cloud automation. You will not use vendor tools "as-is"; you will script and customize AWS/Azure environments to eliminate manual processes. • AI Agent Development: Build reusable AI agents that augment the SDLC-specifically agents for log analysis, documentation synthesis, and platform orchestration. • Reusable Modeling: Utilize Terraform to develop reusable software components and infrastructure models that can be leveraged across the enterprise. • Platform Engineering: Identify performance gaps in the ecosystem, share recommendations, and implement product improvements to ensure a high-performing "Golden Path" for developers. • Governance: Help establish the standards and governance for agent development across the JCL organization. Technical Stack & Requirements The Essentials: • Languages: Expert-level Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Scripting/AI work). • Frontend: Exposure to Angular and JavaScript (minimum 10-20% of your role). • DevOps/Cloud: Hands-on experience with Harness (CI/CD), GitHub Enterprise, and Azure. • Data: Experience with Oracle and MongoDB. • Automation: Deep experience with Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code. The AI Edge: • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and Copilot Studio. • Proven ability to build AI agents or use AI tools to significantly increase development velocity. Specialized Roles within the Team We are also hiring for the following niche functions within the JCL organization: • Automation Quality Engineer: Focus on Selenium-based automation within the Octane (ALM) data quality center. Note: We are not looking for manual testers or SDETs who build pipelines; we need specialists who can write robust test scripts within existing CI/CD frameworks. • Platform Performance Engineer: Focused on "the product of the platform." You will install new products, find performance bottlenecks, and optimize the ecosystem.
