Position Title: Jr. Data Engineer (Life and Annuity)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer with experience in the Life and Annuity domain. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Big Data technologies, hands-on development experience, and a strong understanding of financial services-particularly investment accounting functions.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide input on architectural decisions and participate in design workshops.
• Create integration and application technical design documentation.
• Conduct peer reviews of functional design documentation.
• Offer guidance on intended solutions and development best practices during configuration and testing phases.
• Develop, configure, and perform unit testing on high-complexity components.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to standards and practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex defects during testing.
• Support performance testing and provide recommendations for optimization.
• Advise on infrastructure and environment setup.
• Assist in production support and environment tuning.
Minimum Skills Required:
• 4–5 years of overall IT experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience designing and developing end-to-end Big Data solutions.
• Expertise in Spark, Scala, AWS Glue, Lambda.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Scala, or Python.
• Proficient in SQL, preferably with Amazon Redshift.
• Experience in financial services and investment accounting functions is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with investment regulatory requirements/reporting is a plus.
