Agility Partners is seeking a Junior Data Engineer for a client in the financial services industry. This opportunity sits within an MLOps Data Enablement team focused on accelerating machine learning and analytics initiatives across the organization.
About the Role
You'll work closely with data scientists to build high-quality, production-ready datasets that improve model development, streamline experimentation, and support enterprise analytics. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll leverage modern data technologies including Snowflake, dbt, and SQL to build scalable data solutions that directly impact the organization's machine learning capabilities.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data management systems.
• Clean, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources to support analytics and machine learning initiatives.
• Build custom data processes, software components, and prototypes to improve model development workflows.
• Partner with data scientists, architects, and technology teams to ensure data solutions align with business needs and technical standards.
• Support the performance, reliability, and quality of enterprise data systems.
Qualifications
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Experience cleansing, transforming, and preparing data for analytics or modeling purposes.
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies such as SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, Hadoop, or NoSQL databases.
• Experience developing in a backend programming language such as Java or similar object-oriented languages.
• Exposure to Snowflake, dbt, and/or Python is preferred.
• Understanding of data science concepts and how data scientists consume data for modeling.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
