Role description
Business Process Analyst Kinaxis Business Process / Planning Business Analyst (or Business Process Analyst) Overview / Purpose This role focuses on the functional and process side of Kinaxis implementations — analyzing existing supply-chain processes (demand planning, supply planning, forecasting, S&OP, inventory, replenishment, etc.), defining requirements, ensuring business readiness, performing testing, and supporting configuration or functional consulting. Often they act as the link between business stakeholders (planning, operations, logistics) and technical / solution teams. Key Responsibilities (typical / generic, drawn from related Kinaxis Consultant / Planning Consultant roles) • Work with business stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points, KPIs and improvement goals in demand, supply, inventory, S&OP, and planning cycles. • Participate in workshops for functional design, gather requirements, and document business process flows and system requirements (fit / gap, user stories). • Assist in functional configuration of Kinaxis RapidResponse / Maestro — for example supporting demand forecasting, supply planning modules, data mapping, master data validation. • Collaborate with technical / solution architects and integration teams to ensure data flows, interfaces and system integrations meet business requirements. • Support testing efforts: unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure business logic is correctly implemented; document test scripts; validate results. • Provide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to business users; support change management to enable adoption of new planning processes. • Help translate business challenges (e.g. variability, forecast inaccuracy, slow planning cycles) into system requirements or process improvements — provide recommendations based on supply-chain planning best practices. Typical Requirements / Skills • Several years (e.g. 2–5+) of experience in supply-chain planning, demand forecasting, supply planning, S&OP or related business roles. • Familiarity with supply-chain planning concepts: demand planning, forecasting, MRP / consumption-based planning, supply planning, capacity planning, inventory management. • Ability to analyze business processes, perform requirements gathering, documentation (functional specs, process flows, gap analysis). • Good communication and stakeholder management skills — ability to speak business language and translate to system / technical teams. • Basic knowledge or exposure to system configuration / testing; ideally some experience or understanding of enterprise planning systems (e.g. Kinaxis, ERP, planning tools). • Ability to support testing (UAT), data validation, master data management, change management and end-user training. Why this role matters Implementations often fail not because the tool is technically broken but because business processes are unclear, requirements are mis-specified, user adoption is poor, or master data is inconsistent. A Business Process / Planning Business Analyst ensures the solution fits real business needs, drives adoption, and realizes value by translating between business and technical worlds.
