Role description
Lead AWS Developer - AWS Neptune, Python, Java, DevOps Location: Remote Rate: $85 - $95 per hour Contract: 6 months initial Disclaimer: Applicants need to be US citizens or GC Holders The Lead Developer will spearhead the hands-on implementation and technical delivery of the UDP Ontology Framework. In this role, you will direct the development team to construct the solution, foster collaboration, and transform the technical architecture into a robust, operational platform. Working in tandem with architects and data strategists, you will execute the architecture for the data catalog, graph database, and integrationsโ€”ensuring scalability, security, alignment with project requirements, and adherence to data and DevOps best practices. Key Responsibilities โ€ข Guide the technical implementation of the complete end-to-end ontology solution architecture. โ€ข Drive hands-on development of the MVP ontology, including mapping rules and linked data attributes to the graph database (e.g., AWS Neptune). โ€ข Build connectivity and smooth integrations between the ontology solution, existing AWS data platforms, external data sources, and related services. โ€ข Set up and oversee CI/CD pipelines, security measures, and DevOps processes to support reliable implementation. โ€ข Deploy the architecture for the Data Catalog, graph database, and essential AWS services. โ€ข Design the technical framework to accommodate hybrid/multi-cloud environments where needed. โ€ข Partner with the Senior Project Manager and Data Strategist to plan, execute, and align technical efforts with overall project goals. โ€ข Organize and deliver technical demonstrations to highlight the development team's progress. Required Skills and Technologies โ€ข In-depth expertise in data architecture, data modeling, and graph database principles. โ€ข Proficiency in Python, Java, Spark, and SQL for development and data processing. โ€ข Strong knowledge of semantic modeling, ontologies, and metadata management. โ€ข Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services, especially AWS Neptune. โ€ข Advanced skills in data integration, API development and connectivity, and building data pipelines. โ€ข Proven track record in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and cloud security protocols. โ€ข Experience optimizing solutions for high performance through techniques like caching and pre-aggregation, along with effective monitoring. โ€ข Familiarity with hybrid/multi-cloud architecture strategies. โ€ข Outstanding collaboration and communication abilities to engage with architects, data strategists, and client stakeholders. โ€ข Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
