About The Role We’re seeking a talented Lead BI (Business Intelligence) Developer to join our growing Analytics and AI Engineering team. In this role, you’ll design, build, and optimise BI and data solutions that power our next generation of AI-driven platforms and client analytics. You’ll work across both product development and client delivery—transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that support smarter decision-making and measurable public service outcomes. You’ll have the opportunity to work with modern Azure data tools, Power BI, and emerging AI-driven analytics techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector-based data modelling to support explainable, intelligent reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced BI Developer to shape how AI and analytics come together to drive real impact across the UK public sector. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement end-to-end business intelligence solutions using Power BI and Azure data services • Build and maintain ETL pipelines, data models, and analytics frameworks • Collaborate with engineering, delivery, and client teams to design scalable BI architectures • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and governance compliance across internal and client datasets • Create dashboards, reports, and data visualisations that deliver actionable insights • Support AI transformation projects with data analysis, telemetry, and performance tracking • Contribute to pre-sales demonstrations, analytics proposals, and technical estimates • Research and evaluate emerging BI and AI tools to enhance data capability and innovation Required Skills And Experience • 5+ years’ experience in data analytics or business intelligence development • Strong experience with Power BI, Azure Synapse, and SQL-based solutions • Proficiency in ETL development (Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Logic Apps) • Solid understanding of data modelling, visualisation, and governance principles • Hands-on experience with Python or R for data manipulation and analytics • Exposure to AI-integrated BI environments (e.g., Azure Fabric, Cognitive Services, or OpenAI) • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data insights for non-technical audiences • Experience working in public sector, higher education, or consulting environments (desirable) What We Offer • Flexible and remote working options. • Enhanced pension scheme (5% employer contribution). • 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays. • £1,200 annual work-from-home allowance. • Private healthcare package (Vitality).
