Position Title: Lead Billing Data Analyst
Location: Remote within the US
Duration: 11-Month Contract
Compensation: $30-$40/Hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Billing Data Analyst to oversee and manage the manual billing program for digital products. This role will lead a team of billing specialists, project managers, and collections/adjustment agents, ensuring accurate and timely billing operations. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with operational expertise and a deep understanding of billing and financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the end-to-end manual billing program for digital products.
• Provide oversight to a team of approximately 7–10 specialists, project managers, and agents.
• Monitor team performance to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion of billing activities.
• Develop and enforce quality control measures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all billing tasks.
• Act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams (Marketing, Finance, Sales, Operations) regarding billing issues, escalations, and data needs.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline manual processes, enhance data integrity, and reduce operational risk.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and billing policies.
• Support onboarding and training of new billing team members.
• Provide monthly reporting and updates on billing status, key metrics, and team performance to leadership.
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience in billing, financial operations, or data analysis, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of billing processes, financial controls, and compliance standards.
• Experienced managing large billing data sets (e.g., 4–7 million transactions).
• Skilled in reading and interpreting data; knowledgeable in working with APIs.
• Expertise in Excel formulas and functions, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams to address gaps and automate processes.
• Experienced with data extraction tools such as Insomnia.
• Proficient in SQL for data querying and analysis.
