Lead Business Analyst with Healthcare
Chicago, IL
Contract to Hire
The Lead BA will collaborate closely with product owners, business users, clinical teams, architects, developers, QA, and UAT teams to ensure endtoend traceability of requirements and successful delivery of providerfocused solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as a subject matter expert in provider operations, including clinical workflows, scheduling, care delivery, documentation, revenue cycle, referrals/authorizations, care coordination, and patient access.
• Translate provider operational and clinical needs into detailed technical and functional requirements.
• Support the Salesforce platform (if applicable), including configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of providerrelated applications.
• Lead and facilitate complex requirementsgathering sessions with crossfunctional provider stakeholders.
• Document business requirements within detailed functional and technical specifications, including workflows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and data mappings.
• Analyze currentstate provider workflows and systems to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Assess the impact of corporate initiatives on provider applications and recommend enhancements aligned with clinical and operational priorities.
• Provide functional, conceptual, and logical design documents and data models.
• Conduct rootcause analysis and propose solutions to provider system issues.
• Support the creation and execution of UAT plans, scenarios, and test scripts; facilitate UAT sessions and obtain signoffs.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to define project scope, estimates, timelines, risks, and status communications.
• Coordinate activities across IT, provider operations, clinical teams, and external vendors.
• Support change management, release planning, and production deployments.
• Lead development of training materials and training sessions for provider users and IT staff.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience - 10 or more years of work experience in business or systems analysis within IT development field with three (3) of those years in the healthcare industry; OR any combination of academic education, professional training, or work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Workers Compensation or healthcare delivery settings strongly preferred.
• Exceptional requirementselicitation, facilitation, communication, and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with advanced IT concepts, LAN, security, and web technologies.
• Experience with client/server databases (SQL, DB2), reporting tools, and data models.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, SQL Server, SharePoint, and Agile/Scrum processes.
• Understanding of SDLC, change management, and software quality assurance practices.
• Experience with CRM/Contact Center platforms is a plus.
