Role description
Location: Sheffield 3 days perweek Inside IR35: Rate £500.00 - £535.00 pd If you're looking to push your tech career forward while helping to secure a major global technology estate, join the client's Cybersecurity Science & Analytics (CSA) team. You'll be part of a multi-skilled group of cybersecurity scientists, data and analytics professionals, and engineers-using advanced analytics and cloud-based data platforms to build next-generation cybersecurity capabilities. What You'll Be Doing • Ingest, provision and enhance raw datasets, enriched tables and curated data assets for cybersecurity use cases • Improve reliability and frequency of data ingestion, expanding real-time coverage • Design and build data pipelines that collect, transport and deliver data from multiple internal and external sources • Deliver ETL workflows using advanced data manipulation and programmatic processing to ensure the right data is available at each stage • Onboard and validate new data sources using existing schemas, including exploratory analysis to define new schemas • Support and enhance ingestion infrastructure, pipelines and production operations for critical analytics needs • Contribute to data engineering and platform engineering activities across data acquisition, cloud infrastructure and analytics platform support What You'll Bring • A strong grasp of SRE principles for managing large-scale cloud infrastructure • Hands-on experience with SRE and Azure DevOps practices • Ability to script and code (Bash/PowerShell, Azure CLI; Python/C#/Java) and query data (SQL, Kusto query language) • Experience with software version control and CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitHub) • Demonstrable Linux administration and scripting, plus an understanding of storage, networking fundamentals and system principles • Technical breadth across data engineering: pipelines, automation, productionisation and optimisation, including real-time analytics for large-scale datasets • Comfort working with cloud and big data technologies (Azure preferred) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform) Additional Information • Cybersecurity-specific knowledge is preferred, but not essential-CSA will support your growth across domains • A positive attitude, strong work ethic and genuine passion for learning are key If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
