Lead Data Engineer in Plano, TX (Hybrid & onsite interview)
This is a Lead Data Engineer role with a heavy emphasis on modern cloud data engineering rather than traditional ETL development. The project (developer productivity metrics platform) makes it more attractive than a typical financial data warehouse position because it focuses on engineering analytics rather than banking data.
The biggest challenge will be finding candidates who satisfy all of the following:
• 10+ years Python
• AWS
• Snowflake
• Databricks
• Streaming (Kafka/Spark)
• Data modeling
• AI coding tools
• Willing to work hybrid in Plano
• Contract only
Core Must-Haves

• Strong Python development
• Advanced SQL
• Lead-level experience mentoring engineers
Cloud

• Azure or GCP acceptable if they also have AWS
Data Platforms

• Snowflake
• Databricks
• Redshift
Snowflake + Databricks together will likely be expected.
Big Data
Strong experience with
• Spark
• Kafka
• Hadoop/EMR (less important today)
Spark is probably the most important technology here.
