Overview We are seeking a Lead Data Management Consultant to lead the strategy, design, and execution of a modern data management and analytics transformation for a housing-focused financial services organization. This role combines strategic advisory, technical leadership, and hands-on delivery to implement a cloud-based (Microsoft Azure) data ecosystem that enhances decision-making, operational performance, and delivery of housing programs. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in data management and governance, strong Microsoft data platform experience, and domain knowledge in housing finance (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, or similar institutions). Key Responsibilities • Lead enterprise data strategy, governance frameworks, and architecture design • Drive delivery across discovery, POC, and enterprise rollout phases • Lead Agile/Scrum delivery teams and ensure iterative value delivery • Architect solutions using Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Data Lake, and Power BI • Design scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics layers • Implement data governance, quality, and metadata management frameworks • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams • Apply housing finance domain expertise to align data solutions with business needs Required Qualifications • 8–12+ years of experience in data management, data engineering, or consulting • Proven experience leading enterprise data transformation initiatives • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure data platform technologies • Experience in housing finance (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, or similar) • Expertise in data governance, architecture, and analytics • Strong stakeholder and client engagement skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Data Vault or dimensional modeling • Agile delivery experience • Public sector or housing agency experience • Certifications: Azure, CDMP, PMP, Scrum • Experience with Azure DevOps and modern data engineering practices Key Competencies • Strategic and technical leadership • Ability to bridge business and technology stakeholders • Strong communication and executive presence • Problem-solving and solution design mindset What Success Looks Like • Delivery of a scalable Azure-based data platform • Reduced manual reporting and faster access to insights • Established data governance and quality practices • Improved analytics and decision-making for housing programs Benefits of working at Impact Makers: As a values-based company, taking care of our employees is of the utmost importance and our employee benefits package reflects that.
