Lead Data Scientist

Established in 2013, we specialise in cloud migration and development, digital transformation including agile software development, DevOps, automation, data and machine learning… We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to shape and lead the delivery of advanced AI solutions for our customer, driving meaningful impact across complex, real-world business domains. The role sits at the intersection of technical leadership, advisory influence and commercial delivery, with responsibility for setting standards and direction for Data Science. You will lead a high-performing Data Science team, working closely with senior stakeholders and peer leaders across international locations to ensure AI initiatives are robust, scalable and aligned to business priorities. This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys combining deep technical expertise with client-facing leadership and strategic influence. Please note this role operates in a hybrid model with candidates expected to be able and willing to work from our customer's London office three times per week. Required Experience: • Significant experience delivering AI and Data Science solutions into production within commercial or operational environments • Strong technical expertise across machine learning and advanced analytics, with sound judgement on model selection and deployment • Proven experience leading Data Science teams and driving high-quality outcomes • Strong consultative and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels • Excellent communication skills, able to clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences • Experience operating in environments requiring rigorous quality, governance and compliance Key responsibilities & duties include: • Lead the delivery of production-grade AI solutions that create measurable business value • Setting the bar for quality, governance and best practice in Data Science delivery • Partnering with senior stakeholders to shape problem statements and translate AI outputs into clear, actionable insights • Working collaboratively with peer Data Scientise leaders across locations to ensure consistency of approach and standards • Coaching and developing Data Scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement • Acting as a trusted advisor on AI approaches, model selection and deployment considerations Desirable Experience: • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related discipline • Background in consulting, advisory, or professional services environment • Experience working across multiple business domains or geographies • Exposure to regulated, safety-critical or asset-intensive industries • Experience establishing best practices, standards or frameworks for Data Science delivery • Strong interest in ethical, transparent and responsible AI What’s in it for you: • An opportunity to join a fast-growing company • Options for career advancement • Learning and development opportunities • Flexible working environment • Competitive salaries based on experience Equal Opportunity Employer: Amach is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
