Lead Developer

Lead Developer Hybrid: Kansas City, MO 3 days p/week on site Multi Year Contract Pay: $70-$75 p/hr About the Role Our client is seeking a hands-on Lead Developer ('player-captain' style, not a pure people manager) to oversee and contribute to delivering a modern .NET Core/Azure/Angular enterprise platform. Focus is on strong technical oversight, enforcing best practices, and ensuring team quality—not direct management. Responsibilities • Act as a hands-on senior developer and technical lead for two scrum teams • Write and review code (C#, .NET Core, Angular/PrimeNG) • Ensure adherence to engineering standards and architectural patterns • Support cloud-native, containerized (AKS), microservices-based development • Foster quality through unit testing and modern DevOps practices (95%+ coverage expected) • Maintain a productive, collaborative, and accountable team environment Requirements • Proven senior-level backend development experience (C#, .NET Core) • Experience with Angular and modern front-end frameworks (PrimeNG a plus) • Cloud (Azure preferred), containers (AKS), and microservices architecture • Strong grasp of agile methodologies and code quality best practices • Ability to enforce standards and mentor peers; no direct people management required • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills • Insurance industry experience preferred; crop insurance a plus, but not required Welcome to ConsultNet, a premier national provider of technology talent and solutions.
