Lead Dialogflow Developer

Senior Lead Dialogflow ES/CX Developer (CES) Location: Remote (U.S. Based) Contract Role: 12 months + Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lead Dialogflow ES/CX Developer to support Optimum in designing, building, and optimizing next generation conversational AI solutions. This role is ideal for a seasoned technical leader who thrives in complex environments, collaborates across business and UX teams, and delivers enterprisegrade virtual agent experiences using Google Dialogflow ES/CX and Google Cloud Platform. You’ll lead the design and development of conversational flows, integrate backend systems, implement generative AI capabilities, and guide junior developers while ensuring bestinclass performance, scalability, and user experience. Key Responsibilities Conversational AI Design & Development • Architect, build, and maintain conversational AI solutions using Dialogflow ES and CX. • Design intents, entities, flows, fulfillment logic, and conversation patterns aligned with business requirements. • Implement robust context management, error handling, and NLU tuning to improve accuracy and user experience. Integration & Backend Engineering • Develop middleware, backend services, and APIs—primarily using Python—to integrate bots with enterprise systems and thirdparty applications. • Build and manage webhooks, RESTful services, and eventdriven integrations using GCP services such as Cloud Functions and Pub/Sub. Optimization & NLP/NLU Enhancement • Continuously refine NLU models, improve intent classification, and optimize entity extraction. • Apply NLP best practices to enhance bot performance, reduce fallbacks, and improve automation rates. Generative AI & RAG Enablement • Configure and manage Generative AI components, including Playbooks and Data Stores for RetrievalAugmented Generation (RAG). • Collaborate with architecture teams to integrate generative AI into existing conversational ecosystems. Cross Functional Collaboration • Partner with UX designers, product owners, and business stakeholders to define user journeys and ensure conversation design aligns with customer needs. • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. • Testing, Monitoring & Analytics • Implement logging, monitoring, and analytics frameworks to track bot performance and user behavior. • Develop automated testing strategies for regression, performance, and functional validation. Technical Leadership • Provide mentorship, code reviews, and architectural guidance to junior and midlevel developers. • Influence best practices, coding standards, and solution design across the team. Required Skills & Experience Core Technical Expertise • Strong handson experience with Google Dialogflow CX/ES and Conversational Agent Builder. • Deep understanding of AI/chatbot development, NLP/NLU principles, and conversational design. • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including CCAI, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and related services. • Proficiency with APIs, webhooks, RESTful services, and backend integration patterns. Software Engineering Skills • Strong programming experience with Python; additional experience with Java, PHP, Ruby, or AIfocused languages is a plus. • Working knowledge of frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and REST APIs. • Familiarity with SDLC, Gitbased version control, and CI/CD pipelines. • Experience with Agile methodologies and collaborative delivery models. AI, Data & Advanced Concepts • Knowledge of conversational design, automated speech recognition, and multimodal interaction patterns. • Experience with algorithms, computer vision, knowledge management, or broader conversational AI frameworks. • Handson experience with databases such as BigQuery, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar. Education • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
