Lead Engineer, Services - W2 Only

Title: Lead Engineer, Services - W2 Only Location: Miami, FL - Onsite 4x a week and remote on Fridays Duration: 6+ Months Contract. Interview Mode : Phone + Video Job Description : The Lead Engineer is responsible for providing leadership to an engineering team tasked with the design, development, and maintenance of digital technology systems and software applications. The Lead Engineer applies technical knowledge to solve business problems using a systematic and disciplined approach. This position involves working with software, hardware, and communication technologies to accomplish business objectives. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and implement computer systems and software applications. • Provide leadership and technical direction to a team of engineers working toward shared goals. • Create and maintain technical design specifications. • Participate in testing, validation, and certification processes. • Support, operate, and maintain computer systems and software applications. • Monitor system and application performance, implementing predictive maintenance as needed. • Develop software applications using Agile methodologies. • Ensure that the team meets defined product and project goals. • Apply best practices and processes following industry standards and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills: Technical Skills: • Hands-on experience with Maven-based Spring/Spring Boot (Reactive programming experience is a plus). • Strong understanding of Microservice architecture and design patterns (Event-driven systems experience is a plus). • Experience with relational databases and stored procedure design (Knowledge of NoSQL is a plus). • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Containers, GitOps, and Jenkins is a plus. Soft Skills: • Strong understanding of computer science or engineering concepts, practices, and methodologies. • Ability to communicate effectively and implement technical solutions. • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams. • Capable of working independently or as part of a team, and mentoring junior engineers when needed. • Demonstrates creativity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. • Adheres to industry best practices, methodologies, and processes.
