Job Title: Lead Gen AI / Agentic AI Engineer | Senior Agentic AI & MLOps Architect Location: Charlotte, NC 28202 Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Charlotte, NC) or Remote (Working EST Hours) Employment Type: Contract Duration: 6+ months Pay Range: $45.96/hr. to $49.23/hr. on W2 | $57.14/hr. to $64.00/hr. on C2C Domain: Energy & Utilities | Advanced AI/ML Engineering Application Deadline: June 15, 2026 SKILLS REQUIRED: Primary (Must-Have): • 10 to 15+ years of comprehensive experience in Machine Learning, NLP, and AI system design, with at least 1–2 years of dedicated hands-on experience in Generative AI and Agentic AI frameworks. • Deep expertise in AWS AI/ML & Data services: Amazon Bedrock, Agent Core Platform, AWS Strands, SageMaker, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, Redshift, Aurora Postgres, Glue, EMR, Step Functions, and CloudWatch. • Mastery of Generative AI principles: Practical application of foundational models (e.g., Anthropic Claude, Stability AI, Llama variants), expert-level prompt engineering, fine-tuning methodologies, and safety/guardrail mechanisms. • Advanced proficiency in Python and its core data science ecosystem (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow). • Proven production experience with agentic orchestration tools and frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) for building autonomous, multi-agent systems. • Hands-on experience with Vector Databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, OpenSearch, or RDS Vector Store) specifically for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures. • Solid background in Data Lakehouse Engineering, including hands-on experience with Apache Iceberg, open table formats, and Medallion Architecture principles. Secondary (Good to Have): • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Terraform and Terraform Enterprise for automated, highly scalable cloud provisioning. • Experience establishing and managing CI/CD automated deployment workflows using Concourse and GitHub Actions. • Strong experience working within an Extreme Programming (XP) environment, featuring daily pair programming and Test-Driven Development (TDD). POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking an elite Senior Lead Gen AI/Agentic AI Engineer to drive the end-to-end design, development, and production deployment of next-generation intelligent applications and autonomous agents. Operating as an individual contributor and technical mentor, the incumbent will engineer cutting-edge RAG systems and autonomous workflows using Amazon Bedrock and LangChain. This role is central to modernizing enterprise-scale operations through data lakehouse architecture and advanced machine learning modeling, seamlessly translating abstract business concepts into high-performing, production-grade AI solutions. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead the technical design, solutioning, and full-lifecycle delivery of next-generation Generative AI applications and autonomous agentic workflows on AWS. • Act as a hands-on engineer across multiple tiers, executing developer tasks spanning APIs, vector databases, and scalable cloud infrastructure pipelines. • Champion Extreme Programming (XP) practices by participating in daily paired programming, driving Test-Driven Development (TDD), and providing technical mentorship to upskill engineering team members. • Architect and optimize high-performance Data Lakehouse solutions utilizing Apache Iceberg and medallion architectures to feed downstream LLMs and agentic frameworks. • Build, configure, and maintain automated build and deployment jobs utilizing Terraform, Concourse, and GitHub Actions across enterprise environments. • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define technical roadmaps, turn complex business ideas into manageable user stories, and own the overall delivery quality of the AI team.
