Role Summary
We are seeking a Lead Power BI Developer to take ownership of a high-visibility data visualization and reporting platform. This individual will lead dashboard architecture, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, audit-ready reporting solutions that support public health operations.
Key Responsibilities Power BI Development & Leadership
• Lead the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise-level Power BI dashboards
• Build fiscal-year calculations, expenditure rollups, and audit-ready reporting solutions
• Design and implement monthly snapshot architecture, including backend schemas and workflows
• Mentor junior developers and ensure delivery of high-quality, production-ready dashboards
Data Modeling & Backend Integration
• Develop and maintain data models that support scalable reporting
• Integrate backend systems and troubleshoot complex data-related issues
• Ensure solutions align with EDM, GIS, and internal development standards
Collaboration & Documentation
• Partner with data analysts, program stakeholders, and IT leadership
• Create and maintain technical documentation, data definitions, workflows, and a living data dictionary
• Support executive reporting, audit readiness, and financial transparency initiatives
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing Power BI solutions
• 3+ years of experience creating technical documentation
• 1+ year of project management experience
• 1+ year of data modeling experience
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Graphic design experience for polished, user-centric dashboards
• Working knowledge of SQL and Python for data manipulation and enhancement
Work Environment & Additional Details
• Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite per week in Cayce, SC
• Contract duration: 12 months, with potential for extension
• One-round virtual interview process
