Lead Python Developer

Job Title: Lead Python Engineer (Real Time Lead Experience) Location: Raleigh, NC (Onsite Hybrid Role) Duration: Long-term Contract C2C is fine but W2 and 1099 is preferred Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Python Engineer to design and lead the development of scalable backend systems and APIs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader capable of mentoring engineers, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Key Responsibilities • Lead and mentor a team of Python developers through design, development, and deployment phases. • Architect and implement scalable backend systems and microservices using Python. • Collaborate closely with product managers, DevOps teams, and data teams to deliver robust, production-ready solutions. • Review code, enforce best practices, and maintain high engineering standards. • Drive technical discussions, performance tuning, and system optimization. • Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrations with databases and external services. • Implement CI/CD pipelines, establish testing strategies, and ensure system reliability and security. Required Skills & Experience • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. • 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on Python. • Proven experience leading or mentoring a technical team. • Expertise with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask. • Strong understanding of RESTful API development, microservices architecture, and asynchronous programming. • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis). • Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). • Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with data engineering, machine learning pipelines, or distributed systems. • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
