Lead Python Developer-W2

Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Python Engineer to guide the design and development of scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can mentor a team, make critical architectural decisions, and ensure high-quality software delivery within a fast-paced enterprise environment. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in modern Python development, cloud technologies, and distributed backend system design. Key Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Python engineers throughout the design, development, and deployment lifecycle. • Architect and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices using Python. • Partner closely with product managers, DevOps engineers, and data teams to deliver robust, high-performing solutions. • Conduct code reviews and enforce development best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines. • Drive technical discussions, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize backend systems for scalability and reliability. • Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate with databases, third-party systems, and internal platforms. • Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, and security best practices to ensure reliable deployments. • Support troubleshooting activities, incident resolution, and continuous improvement efforts. Required Skills & Experience • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. • 8+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Python. • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring technical teams in an engineering environment. • Expertise in Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask. • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and asynchronous rogramming. • Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis). • Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes). • Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies. • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with data engineering, machine learning pipelines, or distributed systems. • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
