Role description
Role – Technical Lead/Architect
Location – Remote
Customer - Our customer is a leader in AI enabled SaaS products and solutions with focus in the life sciences and insurance domain
Strategic Shift: We are explicitly prioritizing candidates with deep exposure to a variety of healthcare applications and vendor management over pure cloud infrastructure engineers. Cloud and Azure architecture expertise is strictly a secondary requirement.
Candidates aren't expected to be experts on every individual application, but they must possess strong application architecture, system analysis, and deployment experience to manage complex dependencies, remediation, and cutovers. Crucially, they must be highly capable of driving technical conversations with MSPs and product vendors to troubleshoot and execute the migration. Logistically, this is a low-friction project: there is no sensitive data exposure, no IP whitelisting required, and candidates will only need RDP access to the servers.
MANDATORY SKILLS -
• Primary: Extensive background as a Healthcare Application Architect, Systems Analyst, or Application Owner with exposure to a wide variety of clinical and back-office COTS applications.
• Primary: Deep understanding of application dependencies, remediation requirements, cutover planning, and migration execution
• .Primary: Proven ability to drive technical conversations, push back on, and troubleshoot with MSPs and third-party product vendors.
• Secondary: Azure cloud knowledge and general cloud migration exposure.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES -
• Application Analysis & Dependency Mapping: Evaluate the current state of ~450 COTS healthcare applications, mapping out system dependencies, integration points, and legacy constraints prior to migration.
• Vendor & MSP Coordination: Lead technical discovery and troubleshooting discussions with product vendors and Managed Service Providers to resolve complex application roadblocks, plan remediation steps, and ensure vendor accountability
• .Migration & Cutover Execution: Design and oversee the migration and cutover strategies for application workloads, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical and back-office operations during transitions.
• Cloud Architecture Alignment (Secondary): Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to ensure legacy applications are properly aligned with target Azure services, providing input on performance and deployment viability over RDP.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
• Healthcare Application Proficiency (Core): Deep exposure to owning, analyzing, or architecting diverse healthcare software portfolios. Must understand the nuances of clinical systems and back-office operations
• .Cloud Knowledge (Secondary): General familiarity with Azure cloud environments (Compute, Networking, general cloud-native concepts) to facilitate and understand the migration of on-premises apps to the cloud.
• Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve complex application bottlenecks, particularly when dealing with third-party, closed-source software constraints
• Soft Skills & Leadership: Exceptional communication and leadership skills to interact with clients, stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors. Must be comfortable driving strategic decisions in a collaborative environment
• .Certifications (Optional): Azure Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus but are completely subordinate to healthcare application systems expertise.
Education
• Bachelors or Masters in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field.
