• About The Team
A major leader in the online marketplace and hospitality industry is seeking a motivated and skilled contract Data Scientist to join a cross-functional team of highly technical stakeholders, leverage data from various sources to identify, analyze, visualize, and interpret trends that solve high-priority business problems within the Trust & Safety domain. You will play a crucial role in driving impactful results, managing projects through the entire lifecycle, and translating complex data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst/Scientist on the team, you will:
• Strategic Partnership: Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand organizational goals and prioritize high-impact initiatives.
• Metric Definition & Visualization: Define, create, and visualize key metrics to articulate problems effectively and track project success or workstream health.
• Insight Delivery: Collaborate with technical owners to deliver insightful analyses that drive business decisions.
• Reporting & Dashboarding: Create and maintain dashboards for weekly reporting using BI platforms like Superset or Tableau.
• Relationship Building: Build strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders, ensuring continuous engagement throughout project lifecycles.
• Liaison Role: Serve as a liaison between business and technical teams, driving effective and timely solutions that meet both strategic and operational needs.
Requirements
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in a data analyst or similar role.
• SQL EXPERT IS REQUIRED
• Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in Advanced SQL and Airflow for developing queries and data pipelines.
• Statistical Knowledge: Working knowledge and understanding of experimental design, causation & correlation, and statistical models (e.g., regression, Chi-square).
• BI Tools: Experience with Superset, Tableau, or similar BI platforms for report and dashboard development.
• Problem Solving: Ability to work independently with stakeholders, write requirements, and solve analytical problems in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to team effectively and build relationships at all levels.
Highly Preferred Skills
• Experience within the Trust & Safety domain, ML models, and related metrics.
• Experience with Big Data/Analytics platforms/languages such as Hive, Python, or R.
