Role description
Job Title: Lead Data Engineer- Manufacturing domain domain experience
Location: Remote- EST Time Zone (Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST)
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data solutions and pipelines.
• Support ongoing operations and drive enhancements in existing data warehouse and reporting environments.
• Architect and optimize ETL workflows using SSIS and SQL Server for high-volume data processing.
• Implement and manage Power BI dashboards and reports for business insights and analytics.
• Apply strong Data Warehouse (DW) design principles — data modeling, schema design, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
• Integrate modern Azure data services (preferably Azure Fabric) to enhance data engineering capabilities.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and quality standards across all systems.
• Partner closely with Manufacturing and ERP/SAP teams to understand business processes, data flows, and integration needs within the manufacturing domain.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, ETL, and Data Warehousing.
• Mandatory experience in the Manufacturing domain with strong understanding of data flows across ERP systems.
• Proven experience working with ERP data models — preferably SAP (modules like MM, PP, FI/CO, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in SSIS, SQL Server, and Power BI.
• Solid understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL frameworks.
• Experience in performance tuning of complex SQL queries and large datasets.
• Exposure to Azure ecosystem (ADF, Data Lake, Synapse, Azure Fabric is a strong plus).
• Proven ability to lead and mentor teams while collaborating across cross-functional projects.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Nice to Have:
• Experience integrating Azure Fabric into existing data architectures.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices for data (CI/CD, automation, version control).
• Understanding of data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
