Lucidworks Fusion Engineer Location: Remote - U.S. Based Start Date: ASAP Duration: 3 Months (Possible Long-Term Extension to AMS Support Contract) Client Bill Rate: ~$90 - $105/hr (W2 and benefit options Overview We are seeking a Lucidworks Fusion Engineer to join our Software Engineering team supporting Corning Incorporated—a global leader in glass, ceramics, and advanced materials. You will play a key role in the Corning.com Redesign, AElt Sites, and Digital Asset Management (DAM) implementation projects. This initial engagement is for 3 months, with strong potential to extend long-term as part of the Application Managed Services (AMS) support contract, which renews annually for up to five years. High-performing engineers will have the opportunity to continue supporting ongoing Fusion and search-related initiatives. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and curate Lucidworks Fusion indexing and querying pipelines. • Develop and maintain data ingestion, relevancy tuning, and search optimization solutions for Corning’s external digital platforms. • Integrate and leverage Lucidworks Fusion AI capabilities, including hybrid search, LLM integration, and other advanced search features. • Collaborate with Accenture engineering teams to develop, test, and deploy new search-related features into production. • Ensure Fusion-based search infrastructure is scalable, stable, and high-performing. • Provide technical documentation, troubleshooting, and support transition to the long-term AMS team. Required Skills & Experience • Hands-on experience with Lucidworks Fusion (preferably Fusion 5 or later). • Strong understanding of Apache Solr, indexing, and search architecture. • Proficiency with JavaScript and Python for scripting, automation, and integration. • Demonstrated experience developing and curating Fusion pipelines (indexing, querying, signals). • Familiarity with Fusion AI / ML capabilities, including hybrid and LLM-based search. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within distributed teams. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities. Nice-to-Have • SME-level expertise in Lucidworks Fusion or enterprise search implementations. • Experience managing scope creep and maintaining project focus and deliverables. • A patient, collaborative, and consultative approach when working with stakeholders and non-technical partners. • Familiarity with enterprise CMS/DXP systems and large-scale digital search environments. • Prior experience in Accenture or other enterprise consulting environments.
